AOMEI Backupper Professional backs up data easily as well as entire drives. The software is easy to use, and the user dashboard is attractive and modern. It is a capable tool for easily creating complete sets of backup files in case you ever have to recover from a major hardware failure or other system problem. This Windows backup software also includes one-click options for creating a bootable file so you can reboot your system should it freeze up or should Windows become unstable. It has no problem working with partitions and dynamic disk volumes.
This backup software is compatible with all Windows operating systems, including XP and the latest version of Windows 8. It can also work with common file systems such as NTFS, FAT (32 and 16) and EXT (2 and 3). AOMEI Backupper Professional is compatible with most hard drives, including IDE, SATA, SCSI, virtual drives and USB-connected drives. So, it should work with whatever configuration of Windows PC you own. Unlike a lot of personal-use versions, this backup software can also back up to network-connected devices. AOMEI provides compression tools to help you control the use of your storage space and encryption for securing files. However, we did not see a tool that would allow us to set up our backup files to be stored to an online storage service. Using this software, you would have to create the files or disk image you want to preserve and then manually upload it to your online storage account for safekeeping.
AOMEI Backupper can perform nearly any type of backup. It can restore single backup jobs or an entire system. You can also restore selected files from a disk or partition image without having to restore the entire image file. It can also merge different versions of backup files into one complete and up-to-date file. This backup software can split images if you need to fit a large file onto more than one partition or storage device. However, it doesn???t include a filter or sort tool for finding the files you want to restore. To help you manage your backup files, you will have to name them and track them in that manner.
While this software is good at backing up files and disks, it lacks advanced configuration options. You can schedule scans, but it does not support throttling to control how much processing power is used to run backup jobs. Additionally, while it can save multiple versions of a file, it does not include search tools for finding a specific file version by date, file size or file type. But it can find files by name. Since it does not have complex search and sort tools it may not be suitable for those who need to manage volumes of individual backup files and versions.
If you are looking to back up your files and or entire disks easily, AOMEI Backupper Professional may be a suitable choice for you. It is simple to use and can help you restore entire disks if needed. However, it lacks advanced search tools and configuration options, making it less than ideal for those who require these advanced features.
